Beating temporal phase sensitivity limit in off-axis interferometry based quantitative phase microscopy

چکیده

Phase sensitivity determines the lowest optical path length value that can be detected from noise floor in quantitative phase microscopy (QPM). The temporal is known to limited by both photon shot and a variety of sources electronic devices environment. To beat limit, we explore various ways reduce different factors off-axis interferometry-based QPM with laser illumination. Using high electron-well-capacity camera, measured values using non-common-path common-path systems under environmental conditions. A frame summing method spatiotemporal filtering are further used contributions, thus enabling us push overall less than 2 pm.

Single-shot slightly-off-axis interferometry based Hilbert phase microscopy of red blood cells

A slightly-off-axis interferometry based Hilbert phase microscopy (HPM) method is developed to quantitatively obtain the phase distribution. Owing to its single-shot nature and details detection ability, HPM can be used to investigate rapid phenomena that take place in transparent structures such as biological cells. Moreover, the slightly-off-axis interferometry owns higher effective bandwidth...

Off-axis interferometric phase microscopy with tripled imaging area.

We present an interferometric approach, referred to as interferometry with tripled-imaging area (ITIA), for tripling the quantitative information that can be collected in a single camera exposure while using off-axis interferometric imaging. ITIA enables optical multiplexing of three off-axis interferograms onto a single camera sensor without changing the imaging-system characteristics, such as...

Simultaneous amplitude-contrast and quantitative phase-contrast microscopy by numerical reconstruction of Fresnel off-axis holograms.

We present a digital method for holographic microscopy involving a CCD camera as a recording device. Off-axis holograms recorded with a magnified image of microscopic objects are numerically reconstructed in amplitude and phase by calculation of scalar diffraction in the Fresnel approximation. For phase-contrast imaging the reconstruction method involves the computation of a digital replica of ...

Compact and portable low-coherence interferometer with off-axis geometry for quantitative phase microscopy and nanoscopy.

We present a simple-to-align, highly-portable interferometer, which is able to capture wide-field, off-axis interference patterns from transparent samples under low-coherence illumination. This small-dimensions and low-cost device can be connected to the output of a transmission microscope illuminated by a low-coherence source and measure sub-nanometric optical thickness changes in a label-free...

Broadband quantitative phase microscopy with extended field of view using off-axis interferometric multiplexing.

We propose a new portable imaging configuration that can double the field of view (FOV) of existing off-axis interferometric imaging setups, including broadband off-axis interferometers. This configuration is attached at the output port of the off-axis interferometer and optically creates a multiplexed interferogram on the digital camera, which is composed of two off-axis interferograms with st...
